        Make personal check or money order payable to State Health Department. Complete an application form (see links below). For genealogy purposes, death, marriage, and divorce data becomes public information fifty (50) years from the date of the event, and birth data becomes public information one hundred (100) years from the date of the event. You must be the next of kin to order more recent records.

        They have copies of surviving birth and death records for the period 1853 to 1896 and marriage records prior to 1936. They also have Bible, Church, Census, Land, Military and Tax records, as well as, passenger lists
